A score of 145 or more sits three standard deviations above the average on a standard scale, which is very rare. On this test, though, it mainly means you answered nearly all 20 puzzles correctly. A short online quiz has a ceiling: it cannot measure differences at the very top, and without norms from a supervised sample the estimate is a rough mapping only. That is why this test caps its estimate. A 20-puzzle online test is a small sample of your thinking on one particular day, so your result could easily shift by ten points or more on a retake. It is also worth remembering that IQ is a narrow measure of abstract reasoning. It does not describe character, creativity, emotional understanding, or how you use your abilities. Please enjoy this as a fun result, not as an official score.
Exceptional puzzle performance is only one piece of a person. Qualities like empathy, honesty, persistence, and the ability to work with others shape what anyone accomplishes. Very fast thinkers sometimes benefit most from practicing patience, teamwork, and finishing long projects. Those are the skills that turn strong reasoning into real results. A puzzle score, however high, cannot show whether someone is a good friend, colleague, or neighbor.
Tips
- Seek out problems without easy answers, like open research questions, complex projects, or advanced competitions.
- If you need an accurate high-range score for any reason, ask a licensed psychologist about a full, supervised assessment.
- Share what you know by teaching or mentoring; explaining clearly is a skill of its own.
- Keep balance in your life with rest, relationships, and hobbies that have nothing to do with puzzles.
